Medical Office Technologies

The Medical Office Technologies (MOT) program focuses on medical office procedures and medical transcription, plus a wide assortment of supporting skills and abilities. Students learn the basic medical office skills through a variety of classes including:   Microsoft Word 2003,  medical terminology and transcription, insurance billing/coding, keyboarding and medical office procedures.
This program was developed and is monitored by an industry-driven advisory committee. After completing the MOT program, students will sit for the NCMOA & NCICS examinations through NCCT. Financial Aid available for those who qualify. NCA accredited. Book fee additional.

NEW Programs coming in 2008

The Northwest Ohio Culinary Institute

As a new addition to the Oregon Career & Technology Center career development courses, the Northwest Ohio Culinary Institute is being developed. Core courses offered through the culinary institute are: ServSafe, Product ID & Food Service Equipment, Meat & Seafood, Fundamental Skills & Principles, Understanding Side Dishes, Classic Culinary Methods, Small and Large Plate Design, Advanced Culinary Cuisine, Large Party & Banquet Desserts. Classes will begin after the Christmas holiday so plan now to attend this exciting career development opportunity. Financial Aid is available for this long term evening program. High School Diploma or equivalent is required prior to enrollment.

Tentative Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 4:30 – 9:30 PM
Location: The NEW Clay High School Golden
Eagle Restaurant.
Tuition will include textbooks and knife kit.

Digital Media Specialist

Using the web to keep businesses profitable is becoming more important. Websites are more than just Internet billboards – they are sites that provide vital information to potential customers. The use of streaming video, blogs, webcasts and podcasts maximizes the marketing potential of a company’s website. Learn the skills needed in business marketing today. Enroll in the Digital Media Specialist Program. You will learn how to work with digital media, cut commercials for the web, develop podcasts and use the web to capture potential customer information. You will use several different software packages to develop your own site in class.

Prerequisites: Basic Windows, MS Office knowledge and digital file management.
